Thai Cuisine Intensive Weekend Programme
This programme focuses on equipping students with the foundational knowledge, skills, and techniques necessary to develop a robust understanding of Thai cuisine. This encompasses all aspects of Thai gastronomy, from sourcing ingredients to perfecting culinary creations. Students will have the opportunity to explore the rich and diverse culture that defines Thai cuisine, mastering the art of Thai cooking through practical, hands-on methods within a supportive learning environment.

Class Schedule

Opening intake:

  • 6 April 2024 / 13 July 2024 / 5 October 2024

Duration:

  • 11 weeks on every Saturday

Days per week:

  • 1 day/week

Hours per day:

  • 8 hours/day

Total hours:

  • 88 hours

Delivery language:

  • English with translation

Qualified age:

  • Minimum 18 years old

Suitable for:

  • Amateur, upskillers, reskillers and food enthusiasts
Academic Details

You will learn:

  • Introduction to Thai basic tools, equipment, and techniques
  • Basic fruit & vegetable carving
  • Flavour extraction using Thai methods
  • Cooking basic Thai stocks and soups
  • Creating Thai spicy salads, dips, and appetisers
  • Cooking methods for fried, steamed, stir-fried, and noodle dishes
  • Crafting a Thai set menu and desserts

Course outcome:

  • Gain a well-rounded and solid understanding of Thai cuisine
  • Acquire essential Thai cooking techniques and skills
  • Be able to source, select, and use Thai ingredients properly and effectively

Achievement:

  • Certificate of Completion by Dusit Thani College

Course fee:

  • THB 96,800

Application fee:

  • THB 1,500 – Thai students
  • THB 2,500 – International students 

Uniform:

  • THB 3,250 per set (Chef Jacket, Chef Cap, and Apron)

Toolkit:

  • Free of charge (Toolkit will be provided for in-class usage.)
