“Future Chef of the World 2024” Scholarship Awards 1.8 Million Baht to Five Talented Winners in Collaboration between “The Food School Bangkok,” “Mitr Phol Group,” and “Betagro” in Efforts to Cultivate Thailand’s Future Culinary Excellence

The initiative is a collaborative effort of 3 institutes: ‘The Food School Bangkok,’ a leading international culinary school located in the heart of Bangkok under ‘Dusit Thani International’; ‘Mitr Phol Sugar Corporation Company Limited,’ Thailand’s major sugar producer and the world’s third-largest company; and ‘Betagro Public Company Limited’ or ‘BTG,’ a leading integrated food company in Thailand dedicated to enhancing the quality of life through sustainable food solutions.

In January of 2024, the ‘Future Chef of the World 2024’ initiative welcomed aspiring chefs all over the country to showcase their culinary finesse through video submissions for their abilities and determination to be evaluated. After a rigorous selection process, 15 outstanding individuals were chosen to partake in a culinary competition at The Food School Bangkok according to the tasks set by the chef instructors, aiming to identify the most well-rounded winner, taken into consideration not only their cooking skills but also their creativity, presentation prowess and personal flair. Amidst the intense atmosphere of competition, each contestant also received invaluable feedback from esteemed judges to propel them forward towards personal growth and culinary excellence.

Subsequently, in June 2024, it was the honour of the project organisers to unveil the names of the five esteemed individuals selected to receive full scholarships for the Certificated Courses in Culinary and Bakery Arts at The Food School Bangkok, valued at over 1.8 million baht in total. On this occasion, the project organisers had the privilege of awarding scholarships to all five winners with much appreciated support from high-level executives of all three organisations, including Mr.Siradej Donavanik, Vice President Development – Dusit International and Co-Founder, The Food School Bangkok; Mr. Verajet Vongkusolkit, Chief Executive Officer at Thai Sugar, Bioenergy, and New Business Group of Mitr Phol Sugar Corporation Company Limited; and Ms. Piyada Taratip – Vice president of corporate Marketing and Communication of Betagro Public Company Limited.

The recipients of the scholarships from the “Future Chef of the World 2024” initiative will embark on a journey that extends beyond culinary education. Through the sponsorship and support of all three organisations—‘The Food School Bangkok,’ ‘Mitr Phol Sugar Corporation Company Limited,’ and ‘Betagro Public Company Limited’—this pivotal opportunity will not only nurture their culinary skills but also propel them forward in the culinary industry and equip them with the means to bring about innovation in the culinary arts, contributing to the continual development of the Thai food industry.
